A Space for Collective Learning

The Amalgama Book Club is more than reading — it’s a space for collective learning, where books spark reflection, conversation, and shared discovery.

This community is a quiet rebellion against the idea that no one reads anymore. By joining, you commit to taking a moment from your day to learn something meaningful, not only from the texts but also from one another.

Each month, through live sessions and our online discussion group, we connect literature, art, and life. It’s a place to broaden your perspective, deepen cultural understanding, and build a habit of intentional learning.

This month's reading

This month, we turn our attention to Beatriz González, one of the most influential Colombian artists of the twentieth century. As London's Barbican prepares to host her first retrospective in the United Kingdom, the exhibition takes on a particular weight: González passed away in January 2026, making this a landmark moment to encounter her life's work.

Beatriz Gonzalez by Carolina

The principal text of the 1998 Museo del Barrio exhibition catalogue: a rich, in-depth analysis interwoven with Colombian political and social history from the 1960s through the 1990s.
