Our Exhibition Experience is a curated learning encounter, designed to help you:
Understand the political, historical, and cultural context behind the works
Engage in discussion, analysis, and critical observation
Discover connections and stories often missed by standard tours
Gain a deeper appreciation for the artists and their vision
What is an Exhibition Experience?
Each experience is carefully scheduled around major exhibitions, with small groups, fixed dates, and priority access for Academy members. Each unfolds in three moments:
Pre-visit online lecture
A live or recorded online lecture introducing:
- The artist (s)
- Key ideas and themes
- What to look for and why it matters
Museum tour or guided experience
Your museum visit may take different forms, depending on availability:
Amalgama's Founder, Daniela Galán, is present at every museum visit to contextualise, facilitate, and connect ideas (even when the tour is led by the museum)
*Tours require a minimum group size, museum approval and ticket availability for the group to proceed
- Official museum or Amalgama-led tour (where possible*)
- Curated visit with audio guide + prompts (when tours are not permitted or exhibitions are very busy)

Post-visit discussion
A post-visit conversation:
- In the museum café or nearby space

- Museum-led tours depend on availability and minimum group size
- When tours are not possible, members receive a curated audio experience and guided discussion instead
