Why our students loved our course

"Unlike other online courses, Amalgama offers a hands-on formative experience that significantly helps to process information about a very complex subject. Its exceptional format allows reading from the right sources and to give a voice to all students, stimulating debate and reflection. Daniela’s open mindness and dedication definitely facilitates the engagement of the class participants and leaves in them a desire to keep investigating the subjects discussed.."

I loved the course A Brief History of Art from Latin America in the 20th century! We learned about so many artists in each lesson, there were readings to accompany each week and there was space for discussion in the class. The history and background of each artist was fascinating, the overall picture it gave me about that time period in Latin America was very helpful. I was also pleased that as a non-fluent Spanish speaker I was able to follow along well enough to understand most of the class. "

The course of Amalgama has been a moment of respite, reflection, dialogue and of much inspiration. Each class has opened new perspectives to lesser-known artists from Latin America, rescuing above all women forgotten in the history of art. As a participant, the horizontality of teaching, the dialogue that breaks the digital barrier and the enthusiasm that Daniela always transmits are appreciated. The combination of the critical theory of readings and artistic examples in class opens a productive space for a critical and extremely necessary reflection when approaching the art of Latin America today. In short, it is a highly recommended course.
